Our
unique blend of heritage combined with the friendliness and the caring
spirit of our people makes Primghar a great place to call home. Primghar
is ideally located on Iowa Highway 59 in the heart of the most
productive farmland in Iowa.
Agribusiness is the mainstay of our community. More than 900 people
call Primghar home. Many others who live in the surrounding rural area
enjoy our businesses, parks, school and churches. Primghar offers all
the amenities of a large community with that home town feel.
Fundamentals still count in Primghar and the South O'Brien School
district is no exception. Comprised of Primghar, Paullina and
Sutherland, our students benefit from a favorable student to teacher
ratio and are taught by a dedicated staff. Primghar
is home to the South O'Brien Elementary School.
This Wonderful piece was constructed by Don and Julie Klaahsen, along with decorators Susan Smith, Loretta Edwards, Sarah Jane Einck, Jeanne Ebel, Sandy Rehder, and Linda Walvoord. This volunteer effort will make the announcement of Primghar's Quasi heard loud and clear at area parades, as we get ready to celebrate later this summer! Check the Quasi link at the bottom of this page for more information.
